Nose corrective surgery, also known as rhinoplasty is surgery that changes the shape of the nose. The motivation for rhinoplasty may be to change the appearance of the nose, improve breathing or both.
The indication for this procedure is: expressed nasal hump-ridge, too wide, bulbous nose, saddle nose, asymmetrical nasal tip.
The surgical procedure involves:
• Correction of the tip of the nose,
• Correction of the nasal septum, or
• Correction of the entire nose.
In this way we acquire the aesthetic change in the size and width of the nose and nostrils, as well as eliminate the problems during breathing. Naturally, the three interventions stated above can be performed independently, as for example, one can do only correction of the nasal tip.
Nose correction is not performed in patients younger than 18 years of age.
The intervention itself takes about 1.5 hours under general anesthesia.
After the intervention, tampons are placed in the nostrils, and a compression mask is placed on the outer part of the nose.
Tampons are already removed on the second postoperative day, while the mask is removed after 5-7 days.
